SHAPE acquires Dependable Power
SHAPE Group, New Zealand’s leading energy and air infrastructure company, acquires Dependable Power Ltd (formerly Appleby Engineering).
Since opening its doors in 2021 SHAPE Group has continued its fast-paced growth. This month SHAPE is proud to announce that as of 17 March 2023, the business operations of Dependable Power Ltd will have been purchased by SHAPE Energy Ltd.
With 45+ years of experience, Dependable Power (formerly Appleby Engineering) is a leading supplier and installer of diesel generators and backup power solutions in New Zealand and the South Pacific Basin. The business has evolved over the years to become a premier supplier of generators and downstream equipment.
As part of the SHAPE Energy team, Dependable Power clients will now receive the strength and support of the wider SHAPE Group. SHAPE Energy will have a boost in scale, placing them firmly as a leader in the New Zealand backup power and resilient energy industry.
John Appleby will be staying on with Dependable Power and will be taking the role of chief engineer at SHAPE Group. John will support the wider business in large projects, innovation engineering, R&D projects, and SHAPE’s mentor and development program. SHAPE Group is privileged to have John as part of the team.
Dependable Power representatives will still be available for calls and business as usual. SHAPE Energy intends on making no changes to Dependable Power’s services other than increasing its offering to its customers and increasing support services nationwide.
SHAPE Energy will now have a greater network throughout New Zealand, increased personnel, and extended reach with the addition of Dependable Power’s multiple locations.
Over the coming weeks, Dependable Power and Staff will be introduced to the extended SHAPE Group. Teams will get a chance to meet each other as both companies come together and form one team; SHAPE Energy.
